Job Responsibilities
Greet and escort guests to their tables.
Provide excellent customer service to guests.
Present menus and provide detailed information on food and beverage selections.
Take orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring all special requests are noted.
Inform guests on special offers.
Up-sell additional products.
Serve food and drinks promptly, ensuring table settings are clean and orderly.
Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction with their meals and provide additional assistance if necessary.
Ensure tables are clean and set for the next guests promptly.
Prepare mis-en-place before the start of the shift by arranging the waiter/waitress’ work station, including serviettes, cutlery, salt and pepper shakers, tabasco, ketchup bottles, tooth pick holders etc.
Ensure that opening and closing duties are done in a timely manner.
Address customer inquiries, complaints, and special requests professionally.
Process payments and handle cash responsibly.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to health and safety standards.
Maintain knowledge of the menu, daily specials, and restaurant promotions.
Collaborate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth operations.
Skills, Requirements and Qualifications
Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting preferred.
Strong communication skills and a friendly demeanour.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage time effectively.
Basic math skills for handling cash and processing payments.
Knowledge of food and beverage pairings is a plus.
Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Ability to stand, walk, and carry trays for extended periods.
Ability to work cohesively and collaboratively as part of a team.
Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities.
